Untangle ("we," "the extension") is a product made by Whimsyware. This page explains what data the extension and this website collect, and what we do with it.

What the extension reads

Untangle only runs on ebay.com and amazon.com. It doesn't run in the background on any other site, and it doesn't track your browsing outside of those two domains.

• Keyword filtering and highlighting happen entirely on your device — the listing titles you're filtering never leave your browser.
• Seller and buyer research, and Amazon review analysis, send the relevant public page data (feedback history, review text, listing details) to our backend only when you actively click "Analyze" or look someone up — nothing is sent automatically in the background.

What happens to that data once it's sent

Your request is sent to our backend, which calls Anthropic's API to generate the analysis and returns the result to you. That's the whole trip — we don't keep a copy of the seller, buyer, or review data you send for analysis once that response has gone back to you. We don't store it, we don't sell it, and we don't share it with anyone outside of the services strictly needed to run the extension (Anthropic for analysis, Stripe for payment, Keygen for license validation).

• If you turn on "Use my own key" in Settings, that request uses your own Anthropic API key for that one call and is never logged or stored by us.
• Results are cached locally in your browser (via chrome.storage.local) for your own convenience — that cache lives on your device, not ours, and clears when you clear it or reinstall the extension.

Payments and licensing

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly. License validation for paid tiers is handled by Keygen. Your install is identified by an anonymous install ID, not by name or email, unless you've entered a license key tied to a paid subscription.

This website

If you sign up to be notified at launch, we store your email address for exactly that purpose — letting you know when Untangle is available — and nothing else. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing hello@whimsyware.app. This site loads fonts from Google Fonts; no other tracking or analytics scripts are in place as of this draft.

Your choices

• The extension works on the Free tier with no account, email, or card required.
• You can clear all locally cached data at any time from the extension's settings.
